Intrauterineadhesions refer to a pathological condition in which the uterine cavity is partially or completely occluded after the basal layer of the endometrium is damaged. For women with childbearing needs, especially expectant mothers who are undergoing IVF treatment, this is an issue that requires great attention because it directly affects the environment in which the embryo is implanted. Its clinical manifestations are mainly concentrated in the following aspects:

1. menstrual changes
Thisis the most common and easily detectable symptom. Patients with complete intrauterine adhesions often develop amenorrhea; those with some adhesions often show significant reduction in menstrual volume, but the menstrual cycle usually remains regular. It is worth noting that about 30% of patients with intrauterine adhesions may not have significant menstrual changes, so the possibility of adhesions cannot be ruled out simply based on normal menstruation.
2. Periodic abdominal pain
Some patients will experience sudden and spasmodic lower abdominal pain about a month after intrauterine operations such as induced abortion and curettage. The pain usually lasts for several days (about 3-7 days), then gradually resolves, and then recurs at similar time points every month, forming periodic abdominal pain that is synchronized with the menstrual cycle. This often suggests that there is adhesion at the inner opening of the cervix, which leads to obstruction of menstrual blood drainage.
3. Infertility and pregnancy complications
Intrauterine adhesions are one of the important causes of secondary infertility. About 43% of patients with intrauterine adhesions have a history of infertility. Even if you succeed in pregnancy, you will face higher pregnancy risks. Data show that 5% to 39% of women with intrauterine adhesions will have a spontaneous abortion. The reduction in uterine cavity volume, reduced endometrial receptivity, and poor blood flow caused by adhesions also significantly increase the risk of obstetric complications such as repeated abortion, premature delivery, placental adhesions or implantation.
,,.Restoring the normal shape of the uterine cavity through surgery and combining drugs to promote endometrial regeneration after surgery are key steps in improving the intrauterine environment and laying a solid foundation for subsequent embryo transfer and successful pregnancy.
