Kathryn C. Calhoun Dr. Calhoun, MD, is an expert on female infertility in Atlanta and joined the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in the summer of 2012. She completed advanced training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Calhoun
received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Virginia and is an Echols Interdisciplinary Scholar at the school. She later earned a medical degree from the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Calhoun completed her maternity residency at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where her colleagues elected her to serve as chief resident from 2008 to 2009.
Dr. Calhoun
's clinical interests include in vitro fertilization, polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian aging and reproductive surgery. Her research and teaching focus is weight gain and reproduction. Dr. Calhoun has received multiple awards for his research, including the Luigi Mastroianni Resident Thesis Award from the Philadelphia Regional Society for Reproductive Endocrinology (PARES) and the Outstanding Abstract Award from the Society for Endocrinology. In addition, she has written several peer-reviewed manuscripts in the fields of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She was also named a high-end doctor by Atlanta Magazine in 2019 and a high-end doctor at Castle Connolly in 2023.
Dr. Calhoun is board certified in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the American Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr. Calhoun
's interests outside of medicine include cooking, jogging, reading and yoga. She and her husband, Patterson Calhoun, enjoy spending time with their two children.
